And all of resources listed here for Valentine's Day are free. So, there really isn’t any need to leave the house and buy cards if you don’t want to. There are a plethora of printable Valentine cards for kids available online.

Get Printable Valentine Cards for Kids Courtesy of Disney

Disney has some fun printable Valentine cards for kids. You can get them here. What I like about these is that you get 9 cards on just one sheet of paper. So, this is definitely a good pick if your child is in a large class or if you just want to be frugal with how much ink and paper you use (like I am). Some of the characters that you will find on the cards are Jasmine (from Aladdin), Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Dumbo, and Winnie the Pooh. Now, the background for all of these Disney printable Valentine cards for kids is pink. I wanted to point that out just in case you are printing cards for boys who aren’t interested in that color.

Here's a Good Site for a Wide Variety Of Printable Valentine Cards for Kids

DLTK-Holiday probably has one of the most generous selections of Valentine's Day cards for kids. You will find:

  • craft type cards
  • custom cards: You can type in whatever personal message your child would like to share with classmates. These printable Valentine cards for kids look more like traditional cards. Only one card is printed per page and then you fold the paper into fourths
  • animal cards
  • famous kid character cards
  • cards for teachers

And depending on the printable Valentine’s cards for kids that you select, you will be able to print either 1, 2, or 4 cards per page.

Some of the cards do have the words “dltk crafts for kids” along with the web address on the back of them. So you may want to avoid those if you want your cards to resemble store bought ones. The graphics on the cards give them a “homemade feel”. But that may be good or bad to you, depending on your preferences. Personally, I like that the pictures on these printable Valentine cards for kids appear to be hand drawn. That being said, the printable Valentine cards for kids at DLTK are very cute and, and no doubt, the children will enjoy receiving them.

Nice Printable Valentine Cards for the Pre-K and Kinder Crowd

Nick Jr. has some very nice printable Valentine cards for kids as well. There are two pages with 4 cards each on them. The first page has characters from the shows Blues Clues, The Backyardigans, Go Diego, and Dora the Explorer. And the second page has printable Valentine cards for kids from these shows: Wow, Wow, Wubbzy; Max and Ruby; Wonder Pets; and Yo Gabba Gabba. These cards have vibrant colors and characters that many little ones really like. You only get eight cards but you can just print out a few duplicate pages, if needed. The boxed cards from the store have duplicates as well. And I like the fact that these printable Valentine cards for kids are directly from the source - Nickelodeon. So, the images are genuine.

Maybe You Can Make Your Own Printable Valentine Cards for Kids

There is also a Microsoft template of kids Valentine cards. There are only 3 on the page. But I wanted to make this known because with a little searching, more may be available. Or, if you know how then you may choose to design your own printable Valentine cards for kids on your computer.

3 Tips to Make Quality Printable Valentine Cards for kids

You could very well print any of the above cards out on regular paper. But if you want to give your printable Valentine cards for kids a “store bought” look then here are a few pointers.

  1. Print the cards out on card stock. This is a heavier, studier paper that is similar to what cards from the store are printed on. Currently, you can buy a pack of 250 sheets from one of the mega stores for under $6. And if you select a set of cards that are several to a sheet then the cost per card will be very small.
  2. Use one of the better print settings on your printer. Normally, I print everything on the “draft” or “quick” print to save on ink. But for these printable Valentine cards for kids I would probably choose the “normal” or “best” print option.
  3. Cut the cards apart using a paper cutter. These can be bought very inexpensively online or at most of the big box stores. This will give the cards a clean, straight cut that looks very professional.

Of course, all of these steps are optional. Because more than likely,  the candy will receive more inspection than the printable Valentine cards for kids.

The point of making homemade valentines is not simply to make them look as "good" as store bought. The point for me is to be creative and to give a personal touch to my greetings. Each is unique and special. I do agree that using a paper cutter is essential!

Thanks for commenting Jimmie. Some children want their cards to look like their friends' store bought ones and not like printable Valentine cards for kids. That's why I offered tips on that. But I agree that card making is a great way to express creativity. :)
